Our Corby Mechanical installations team were involved in the planning, project management, fabrication of Batch Charger structural steel guide frame as well as lifting, positioning and securing of batch chargers during a furnace rebuild. Our dedicated project manager liaised directly with the manufacturer’s technical advisors prior to commencement with regards to adhering to a strict time schedule.
Phase 1 involved the fabrication of a structural steel guide frame at our fabricating facility for the batch charger to be positioned on and to allow it to travel along a guide rail
Phase 2 involved the lifting of the structural frame onto a mezzanine and positioning to allow for the lifting and installation of the batch charger in its allocated position. ‘
Phase 3 included the termination of electrical and water connection for commissioning
The project was carried out on schedule which allowed for the on-time filling of the furnace. All health and safety protocols, safe systems of work and lifting procedures were followed which led to an incident free outcome.
